Kerry finds purpose in designing spaces that welcome everyone, providing safety, dignity, and joy to those who inhabit them.
Kerry joined Wheeler Kearns Architects (WKA) in 2017 as an intern through the Professional Residency Program at the University of Texas, and he joined the studio as a Project Architect in 2021. Kerry graduated from The University of Texas at Austin in 2020 with a Bachelor of Architecture, a Bachelor of Science in Architectural Engineering with a focus in Construction Engineering and Project Management, and a business minor.
Before joining Wheeler Kearns, Kerry worked for firms around the country where he gained experience in corporate interiors, educational environments, biotech office and lab development, health-care and urban planning. With WKA, Kerry has contributed to various educational, nonprofit, and residential projects that foster social connections and individual expression, including the adaptive reuse of an old factory into a vibrant creative arts school for Art in Motion, TPCS’s new community center for queer youth and social services, and several schools across the Chicagoland area.
Kerry is a registered architect in Wisconsin and a member of the AIA. As a member of the LGBTQ+ community and co-chair in the AIA Chicago LGBTQI+ Alliance, he brings a personal and professional commitment to promoting diversity, inclusivity, and representation within the design community.
Kerry resides in Chicago’s Boystown neighborhood and loves running, happy hours, and spending time on the water with friends and family..
