Set on the shore of Lake Michigan, this beloved retreat began as a modest brick cottage. Over time, as the family grew and patterns of use shifted, the house evolved through a series of thoughtful additions, each responding to new ways of gathering while preserving the spirit of the original home.
The most recent and transformative intervention introduces a new kitchen, dining space, and screened porch that orient daily life toward the lake and bring renewed openness to the plan, with two carefully punched openings in the original masonry.
