We are excited to announce that Larry Kearns has received FAIA designation, one of the greatest individual honors from the American Institute of Architects (AIA).
Larry Kearns, visionary leader and trusted collaborator, creates concise, elegant and emotionally resonant buildings. Recognizing both challenge and possibility even in urban blight, he proves socially responsible architectural practices enrich lives and transform communities.
A founding principal of Wheeler Kearns Architects, Larry has led the firm to design, administrative and technical excellence. He demands that every project, no matter its size or cost, exhibit a defined and defensible emotional center. What is at the heart of this work, guiding and shaping its design? By posing this question at each phase of a development, Larry infuses his architecture with aesthetic rigor, technical prowess and social purpose.
The 2016 Jury of Fellows from the American Institute of Architects (AIA) elevated 149 AIA members to its prestigious College of Fellows, an honor awarded to members who have made significant contributions to the profession. The 2016 Fellows will be honored at an investiture ceremony at the AIA Convention in Philadelphia in May.
Congratulations to all 2016 Fellows! www.aia.org/practicing/awards/2016/fellows/
