We’re excited to announce that Two Gables has received a 2024 LUXE Residential Excellence in Design Award for Exterior Architecture!

Guided by a desire to minimize materials and embrace a warm gray palette, Two Gables seamlessly blends with the picturesque wooded ravine site.⁠ Two crisp, vernacular-inspired gabled volumes—one for sleeping and another for living—are connected by a glazed breezeway that fuses house and landscape. The frontal facade presents the flanking gabled volumes as solids, ⁠composed of nickel-gapped Accoya siding and colored standing seam roofing, punctuated by deeply inset wood-clad windows. ⁠

To accommodate rock wool outsulation while discreetly concealing exterior downspouts, the design incorporates a 4.5″ deep standoff system for the Accoya siding. Additionally, the precision-cut 6′ lengths of Accoya cladding align seamlessly with punched windows, concealing the garage door and contributing to the residence’s thoughtful and efficient design.⁠
