ITW David Speer Academy was selected for the 2017 Green Apple Day of Service, which is sponsored by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) to bring together the community and focus on sustainability in our schools.

Together with various volunteers from ITW David Speer Academy, Mortensen Construction, USGBC, and GSA, WKA helped to build and install 2 portable solar generators, ten three-season cold frames for growing plants, and several hydroponic growing systems that will be utilized indoors for biology and chemistry classes.
