Grass Fed
A house for former metal-smiths, structural engineer; the musicians and raiser of Devon beef overlooks Taliesen in Spring Green, Wisconsin. Acknowledging Wrights’ shadow, themes purposely align and diverge. Nestled just below the garden and crest of the hill, the deep-eaved expressed glue laminated structure provides shelter from sun while welcoming the breezes. Fir and Hemlock are the dominant materials, offset by micro-topped concrete and plaster. Within a grouping of utilitarian structures also composed by WKA, this straightforward house is an agent for experiencing the land and what it produces.
