Project Architect Emily Ray presented the Broadway Youth Center project at the 2024 AIA Summer Leadership Conference in Denver, CO on July 27th, 2024.

The Broadway Youth Center (BYC) project received a 2023 National AIA / AAH Healthcare Design Award. Located in Chicago’s Lakeview neighborhood, BYC serves as a welcoming, inclusive beacon for the community. The new five-story building houses the nonprofit’s comprehensive social and healthcare services for Chicago’s LGBTQI+ youth. Sited on a narrow lot, the 20,000 sf program is arranged vertically, and includes a health clinic, pharmacy, cafe, day-time community spaces, and private spaces for counseling, career, and social services.⁠
