The Elgin Math + Science Academy (EMSA) project has received an AIA Illinois Honor Award for Excellence in Interiors!
The project breathed new life into the former Fox River Country Day School, now serving as EMSA’s vibrant campus. Located within an Illinois Nature Preserve, the design preserves the site’s rich legacy while creating a distinctive and sustainable learning environment. Notably, the rehabilitation includes transforming a 1961 athletic building into EMSA’s middle school building and gym and renovating a 1937 log cabin into EMSA’s inspiring “Art Barn.”
