Wheeler Kearns Architects (WKA), in partnership with GSA and Mortenson Construction, was proud to participate in the Green Apple Day of Service, a volunteer event with the US Green Building Council. This year the team partnered with Howard Brown Health to beautify the urban outdoor spaces adjacent to their flagship clinic. WKA coordinated the volunteer activities of the day, and architect Noah Luken, along with 60+ other volunteers, painted a mural celebrating Howard Brown’s history, mission and future. Other improvements included installing customized pavers and other landscape materials, and providing artistic decorations on the existing street trees. The project resulted in a bright, colorful makeover to an otherwise neglected outdoor space.
