Located on a 28-acre site in rural Michigan, this two-story vacation house is sited on a man-made knoll overlooking restored farm fields and natural pond.  The 5,000 sf retreat is comprised of a main house and guest house connected by a louver screened 'dog-trot' that also houses the stair.

In keeping with rural tradition, the house is sited on a north-south axis, flanked by a parking court to the east and open law to the west.  The palette is restrained, with light grey siding, white painted woodwork and rust colored accents.
