Chai Juanchu

Originally from China, Chai joins Wheeler Kearns Architects (WKA) for a one-year internship. She received a Bachelor of Architecture degree from Wuhan University of Technology in China, and a Master of Architecture degree from Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri.

Chai has experience working on various project types and scales. During her undergraduate degree, she interned for China Construction Engineering Design Group where she worked on the Equatorial Guinea Haut-Brion Recreation Center project and the Shenzhen Longhua Cultural and Sports Center urban design competition. She also worked for reMIX studio as a Grasshopper teaching assistant for a summer workshop called “Geographical Analysis – Data Analysis and Visualization”. Before moving to Chicago, Chai volunteered with a St. Louis based non-profit – Creative Exchange Lab, on several urban renewal projects including an art and cultural corridor district for east St. Louis.

She is currently assisting on a small residential renovation project in Michigan, and a new single-family residence in Aspen, CO.
