Daniel holds a Bachelors of Architecture and Bachelors of Interior Architecture from Auburn University. During his studies, Daniel spent a semester study in Rome and was a part of Auburn's Rural Studio Thesis Progam. Along with three teammates, he designed and built the Boys & Girls Club of Akron. Working extensively with the community the team formalized the organization of the club, raised nearly $130,000 in donations, and constructed the new facility of nearly 7,000 sq ft. He continues to serve on the club's advisory board.
While in school, Daniel interned with Shui On Land in Shanghai, PRC and Skidmore, Owings, and Merrill in New York working on mixed use and hospitality projects.
Prior to joining Wheeler Kearns early this year, Daniel was part of Rural Studio's faculity as the Outreach / Thesis Instructor and Director's Assistant. His duties as Outreach/Thesis Instructor include primary advisor to the Outreach program's $20K House, co-teaching both the Outreach and Thesis programs with the studio's director Andrew Freear, and overseeing continuing thesis projects. He has assembled Rural Studio's work in the exhibit, Small Scale Big Change, at The Museum of Modern Art in New York and co-designed a Pavilion representing the Rural Studio for the exhibit, 1:1 Architects Build Small Spaces, at the V&A Museum in London. His work at the Rural Studio has been published in numerous periodicals, journals, and publications. In addition, he has lectured extensively on the work of the Rural Studio across the United States and in 7 countries.
Daniel lives in Chicago's Logan Square and is currently working on the design of a new space for an antique car restoration shop.
